Common questions

How many questions are on the 2025 citizenship test?

The 2025 civics test has a pool of 128 questions. At your interview the USCIS officer asks up to 20 of them out loud, and you need 12 correct to pass.

Is the 2008 version (100 questions) still used?

Yes. If you filed Form N-400 before October 20, 2025, you take the 2008 version: 100 questions, up to 10 asked, 6 correct to pass. You can switch versions on this site.

Can I take the test in Chinese or Spanish?

The test itself is given in English for most applicants, but you can study every question here in Chinese (中文) or Spanish (Español). Some older, long-term residents qualify to take it in their own language — see the exemptions guide.

Is Quibank free?

Yes — it's completely free, with no account needed. Your progress is saved only in your own browser.
