Exam: Given by Pearson VUE, at a test center or online through OnVUE. State portion: 40 scored items plus 10 pretest, 90 minutes. National portion: 80 scored items plus 5 pretest, 150 minutes. Passing score is 70% (scaled) on each. Fee: $75 for both portions booked together. If you pass one portion you retake only the other. Attempts are unlimited within the one-year approval, but only three OnVUE attempts per portion.

What other sites get wrong about Oklahoma
Myth: The initial Oklahoma license application fee is $95.
Fact: OREC charges a $35 application fee; the provisional sales associate license fee is paid separately after you pass the exam. source
After you're licensed
Renewal: The provisional license expires at the end of the 12th month, counting the month it was issued. It cannot be renewed unless you finish the 45-hour post-license course before it expires. After that, licenses run 36 months (the sales associate issuance fee is $215). Resident sales associates need 30 CE hours per term, including 13 required hours: 6 Contracts and Forms, 3 Professional Conduct, 1 Broker Relationship Act, 1 Code and Rules, 1 Fair Housing and 1 Hot Topic.
Good to know in Oklahoma
Brokerage: After passing the exam you issue your license online and place it with a brokerage.
Felony history: Applicants with a felony in the past 20 years may still qualify. OREC reviews cases individually against its List of Crimes.
Out-of-state applicants: Nonresident applicants must pass the Oklahoma state portion of the exam and may also need the national portion, depending on their experience in their current jurisdiction. Oklahoma cannot issue a license of higher standing than one you hold elsewhere.
Renewal cost: After the provisional term, an active sales associate license costs $200 plus a $20 Education and Recovery Fund fee for each 36-month term ($125 plus $20 to renew inactive), under OREC rule 605:10-7-2.
Fee check: OREC's FAQ lists a $100 provisional sales associate issuance fee, but OREC's official Fee Schedule (effective Nov. 1, 2024) lists $110, including the education fee, and the Nov. 2025 Code and Rules Book (605:10-7-2) sets a $95 license fee plus a $15 Education and Recovery Fund fee. Expect $110 and confirm with OREC when you issue your license.
