Once you're registered

Renewal: Registrations expire June 30 of odd-numbered years; the renewal fee is $60. If renewal is not made and paid before September 1 of that year, the registration lapses, cannot be renewed, and a new application is required. Technicians must complete 20 hours of continuing education per biennium (Board Rule 480-15-.02(6)); those first registered mid-cycle need 20 hours (registered July-December of year one), 10 hours (registered in year two), or none (registered January-June of year three).

Good to know in Georgia

No reciprocity: Georgia does not allow pharmacy technicians to transfer (reciprocate) a registration from another state; you must apply as a new registrant.

Employer details: If you already work in a pharmacy, submit that pharmacy's license number with your application. After you start or change jobs, notify the Board with the Pharmacy Technician Change of Employment Notification Form (no fee), listing each pharmacy where you work.
