rights and responsibilities, who can vote, the freedoms everyone shares, and what new citizens promise. This is the last part of American government on the citizenship test. Ten real questions answered. This is the rights and responsibilities section of the 2025 civics test.
It covers voting, the rights everyone in the United States has, becoming a citizen, and how Americans take part and serve. Let us go through them. There are four amendments about who can vote. Describe one.
For example, citizens 18 and older can vote. You can also say you do not have to pay to vote. Any citizen, women and men, can vote, or a citizen of any race can vote. Who can vote in federal elections, run for federal office, and serve on a jury?
United States citizens. What are three rights of everyone living in the United States? Freedom of speech, of religion, of assembly, to petition the government and the right to bear arms. Name any three.
What do we show loyalty to when we say the pledge of allegiance? The United States and the flag. Name two promises new citizens make in the oath of allegiance. Give up loyalty to other countries, defend the Constitution, obey the laws, and serve the nation if needed.
Any two. How can people become United States citizens? Be born in the United States, naturalize, or derive citizenship from a parent. What are two examples of civic participation?
Voting, running for office, joining a political party, helping with a campaign, or contacting your elected officials? Name any two. What is one way Americans can serve their country? Vote, pay taxes, obey the law, serve in the military, or work for the government.
Why is it important to pay federal taxes? It is required by law, a civic duty, and it funds the federal government. Men age 18 through 25 should register for the selective service. Name one reason why.
It is required by law, it is a civic duty, and it makes a draft fair if one is ever needed. That is rights and responsibilities, and the whole American government area. Only citizens vote in federal elections and serve on juries. Everyone has core freedoms.
